Ingredients

Apples and mix-ins
  • 5 crisp apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, cored and diced
  • 4 Snickers bars Full size; cut into bite-sized pieces and frozen briefly
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
Creamy dressing
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened
  • 1 powdered sugar 1 cup
  • 1 8 oz whipped topping Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Caramel finishing
  • 1 caramel sauce For drizzling just before serving

Method

Freeze the Snickers
  1. Freeze the Snickers pieces for 20 minutes so they stay firm when mixed.
  2. Keep the Snickers pieces in the freezer until you are ready to fold them in.
Make the whipped dressing
  1. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping and vanilla until combined.
Assemble the salad
  1. Fold the diced apples into the dressing.
  2. Gently fold in the Snickers pieces and peanuts so the apples stay crisp.
Chill and serve
  1. Refrigerate the salad for 30 minutes.
  2. Drizzle with caramel sauce just before serving.

Notes

For best texture, dice the apples into small, even chunks and keep the Snickers cold until folding so they don’t melt into the dressing. Store covered in the refrigerator up to 3 days (caramel tastes best fresh). Freezing isn’t recommended because the apples and whipped dressing can lose their crisp bite. Swap whipped topping for dairy-free whipped topping and use dairy-free cream cheese for a dairy-free option.
